Trekking and excursions in the Brenta Dolomites and Paganella.
Below we describe a few of the routes suggested by our expert guides in the Paganella Dolomites. You can find many more here!
Excursions of medium difficulty in the Brenta Dolomites lasting about 2 hours and 30 minutes. From Piazza Dolomiti head to the Maso Cadin following the directions to the "La Montanara" refuge, take the road slightly uphill towards Pradel. The path winds its way through meadows and woods. After a short tough stretch, the path continues through pastures and beautiful pine forests up to the meadows of the Valbiole equipped area and then continues towards Pradèl, until you reach the Pineta hut (Bar Restaurant). Keep on walking on the right side in relation to the hut, after some twists and a subsequent straight section, leave the road and head to the ski slope. Before the last and steepest stretch, a trail on the left leads to Malga Tovre, where we suggest you to take a break to rediscover the traditional flavours of Trentino and visit the didactic farm. A final climb uphill leads to Rifugio Montanara, which offers stunning views of the central chain of the Brenta Dolomites and the Molveno Lake.
An easy path that plunges us into the famous and exciting "Bears Area". After a brief initial climb, you will reach "Albarè", where you can watch some brown bears in the wild, calmly walking in an area of about 7000 square meters, which extends in front of our eyes. If you continue on a flat area, a path of about 15-minute walk will take you to the scenic ruins of Castel Belfort. Around its walls a path equipped for archery was set up and will plunge you in the atmosphere of the ancient deeds of the Knights of Sporeggio.
This is a path of medium difficulty lasting about 4 hours, allowing you to get to Malga Spora (1872 meters) taking about an hour and a half from Brenzati. In summer, Malga Spora offers the chance to see one of the few alpine pastures that cannot be reached by road; on-site there are about 30 dairy cows and every other day you can watch the production of cheese and butter with traditional methods. If you book in advance, you can also spend the night here and eat.
It is a high-altitude path without differences in height, ideal for those who are not familiar with climbing. The starting point is the square in Spormaggiore: follow the signs "Sulle Tracce dell’Orso" (On the tracks of the 'Bear", an educational itinerary made by the Adamello Brenta Natural Park) and you will arrive at the beginning of the path referred to as "Roman Road". By following this path, you will cross the centre of Maurina. If you continue, you will come to the ruins of the Rovina Castle. Here you can stop for a break in the sun or for a tasty snack.
